Futbol Americano

It’s an interesting finish to my wife’s birthday weekend as we watch my Steelers vs. my wife’s Colts after seeing an amazing production of Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette earlier this afternoon.

But anybody else find this NBC Futbol Americano banner a little odd? They haven’t run an English version all night that I’ve seen.

I saw the same caption on my NFL Broadcast.
Also, I had to deal with Spanish language closed captioning that covered about 1/6 of the screen (in the upper middle section) where the cameras generally show the football.

Yeah, I noticed that too. That was a good game to watch – bit of a butt-puckered for a steelers fan, I imagine…
The colts really are adrift without Peyton.

Not to mention that the hit that put Collins out was late.

Colts defense deserved the win, the offense, meh….

Heard on the radio coming in today that the league is having some sort of Hispanic Heritage Month or something similar.

In even the poorest Latin countries, sports is the biggest single form of entertainment, so it stands to reason that Latin immigrants would bring their appetite for sports here with them, and it stands to MORE reason that ESPN would market to them to get a slice of that pie.

    It bothers me not.
