Lost amid all the hubbub about the al-Reuters and NYT fauxtoshopping debacles may have been this wonderful gem:
Major General McCoy’s righteously pissed-off letter to the Washington Post describes — in detail, with specific examples — the misleading and inaccurate nature of Andy Mosher and Griff Witte’s story in the Post about Iraq reconstruction progress — or rather, the “flailing reconstruction effort,” as they put it. Read the whole thing.
(Buried in the reporters’ own story is the real lede — “the United States has completed 82 per cent of its planned projects.” But nooo, let’s emphasize the worst, shall we? And so they did. Bastards.)
