Cure for Diabetes?
Via Drudge, this is fantastic news.
My father-in-law died from Type II diabetes a few years ago, and my mother-in-law’s in a wheelchair because of it. In both cases, it started as soon as they stopped working in the fields. When you eat tortillas, beans, rice and beer every day and suddenly stop exercising, you’re gonna be at risk. We took Ama to a special clinic where the doctor advised her to stop eating starchy foods. She looked at us and said, “so he wants me to stop eating?”
Diabetes is rampant among the older population of Latinos in California, precisely because of diet and lack of exercise as they become sedentary with age.
I don’t personally have a family history of the disease, but considering that for a good ten years or so I inhaled a 2-liter jug of Pepsi every day, I was probably at risk. Now I drink a 2-liter Pepsi jug full of water and I feel much better.
