On our Barcelona trip (“I’ve been to Obamaland, and it’s called Spain”) a few years back, we walked by this place:
Turns out it’s a restaurant — oddly, with a British Colonial theme — that seems to have made a deliberate decision to make money off of Europe’s Obama-mania. According to one review,
As Americans, we had to stop in the place when we saw it as we were walking by.. Upon entering the bar area you will see a life size model of Obama sitting on a bench at one of the tables. Regardless of your political views, it is a good photo op! The bar has an African/ British safari theme to it and the early colonization of Africa with artifacts etc on the walls.
Well, we’re Americans too, and we didn’t have any problem passing up the place when we saw it.
Here’s hoping their business model craters tomorrow.
