While I do find these things funny to watch (that was a hysterical series, “Yes, Minister,”), the sad fact is that it is funny because it hits so close to the truth. To my mind it seems reasonable that anyone who can’t answer a direct question directly should be fired – it should cut down on getting the run-around, I’d think. Authority and responsibility should rest in the same person.
