Vortex is a VERY cool scope company.

Thor has the details. They made sure to honor their lifetime no-questions warranty in order to get a scope in his hands for Boomershoot.

One Response to Vortex is a VERY cool scope company.

I have the Vortex Viper PST, 4-16×50, MRAD MOA illuminated reticle. It’s mounted on a rather fine Rock River based AR-15, which with I’m getting 1/2 MOA, five shot groups, with factory 68 gr. I’m looking for some Federal Ultra Match (Sierra Match King) in 68 gr., and will be buying a set of carbide Dillon dies to do the final, fine tuning.

The scope though, is impeccable. The adjustments are EXACTLY 1/4 MOA, and return to zero after shooting the box, time and time again. Optically, it’s a peer to Leupold Mk IV and is at least in the neighborhood of a Nightforce. The *only* aspect of the PST which is likely not up to the NF standard is ruggedness. I’m sure the PST is tough, but I’m not going to bash it against a steel post to find out how tough.

That said, I’m thinking the Vortex Razor line, with it’s 35mm tube, might just be in that Nightforce toughness territory. But, I had the $700 for the PST, but the $2,000 for the Razor was just a bit steeeeeep for me.

Very pleased with the Vortex PST though. VERY. PLEASED.

Glad to know they back ‘em up that good, too!
