When you’re trying to make it slow down.
Some folks may have noticed that I’m not my normal, everyday, chipper self as of late. The cussin’ has gotten to a point where it is starting to elicit emails, so I figure I’d better explain.
The wife is gone home to be with her mother who, last week, was found to have colon cancer. She’s gone to help keep things stable during the time of many hospital visits and consultations. The prognosis is good and it looks like an isolated growth, but all things being equal, we’d just rather that it never occured.
It is just me and the dogs and my work and that sucks. Usually the wife is there to calm me out a bit before getting on here and ranting, so you may understand, with that element gone, I’m backsliding to bachelor-land. There, anyone and everyone can piss up a rope and suck out the wet if they get me on a bad day, and I have zero tolerance for bullshit from non-realted entities (I’ve told y’all before that I’m not a people person).
The surgury to remove the growth is today, so if’n ya got an extra bit of luck handy or are of the prayin’ kind, tossing one towards the mother-in-law’s Helena, MT operating room would be appreciated.
We now return to our regularly scheduled programming.
Have a nice day.
UPDATE: Good news from The Wife!
The surgury went well and her mom is ready to leave the hospital, though the docs are not going to let her do that and have issued a Morphine drip to keep her from thinking she can walk.
Just a couple swats with some chemo and she’ll have gained the “Cancer Survivor” badge.
Thanks to all who wished us well. It was very appreciated.
(Fuck! And now I can’t even get my gifs to work. Clicky.)
